President's Message
Greetings to all kabayans, townmates and friends. Our term as officers is almost at its end. A lot has happened from our 30th Anniversary celebration. I want to thank the officers for their devotion and hard work to the organization. This past term has been a milestone for our association.
What have we accomplished?
We were able to increase our attendance at our annual events. The continued support through scholarship and funding for the three high schools: Yangco High School, Luzon Technical Institute and San Miguel High school. Our next project is to expand our assistance to the most recent High Schools which are San Miguel Annex and Angeles High School. The support is in the mode of school supplies such as science and home economic equipment, notebooks, pencils and other miscellaneous items.
What has been our most recent project?
We funded a welding project. The trainers and trainees were very thankful for our humanitarian program. We were able to assist, with funding, equipment and materials for the students. The class graduated 18 students. They each received a welding certificate to start their profession. It is gratifying when we (SASDCI) are able to support education for our town mates. Assisting is core for the SASDCI association.
What can members do to help?
"PROJECT SCHOOL SUPPLIES" At our upcoming mid-summer potluck picnic, I would like to encourage all of you to donate new or gently used back packs, school equipment, sports equipment, notebooks, crayons, pencils and anything that might be useful. These items will be collected, sorted and sent to schools in need. We will have a series of mini events to raise funds. Please keep informed by calling one of the officers.
When is our next annual event?
The summer picnic is on July 14th at Admiral Baker Field (Gazebo 2). I would like to personally invite all members and friends to join me for a fun and enjoyable time. Please remember that this is an election year. Participate and make your vote count. As mentioned, we will be collecting school and sports supplies/equipment at this event. See you all there.
The annual dinner-dance is back at Holiday-Inn by the Bay located in downtown San Diego. I am inviting everyone to join us. As always this is the highlight of the year. The highpoint of the night is “Red Carpet” celebration of special couples in assisting us with our fundraising campaign. This will be a night full of entertainment and festivities.
What is in the works?
Highly requested, our Facebook page is under construction. Stay tune for more details.
On behalf of the officers, we would like to convey that it has been a pleasure and a privilege representing the organization in the capacity as officers.
Thank you for your continued support,
Allan Manangan, SASDCI President
