The Padua Family
Feding Manglicmot Reyes wed Catalina Torres Sales. Ernesto "Erning" Evangelista Padua, Sr.
wed Clarita Lazaro Dumpit. Catalina is the daughter of Maria Asinas Torres who is first
cousin to Leonardo Asinas Padua, father of Erning Padua, Sr. That makes Ernesto "Ernie"
Padua, Jr. a third cousin of Maria Paz Sales Reyes.
Ernie or "Balot" and Paz or Pachi met and fell in love in high school (ca. 1973) and were
married in San Antonio in 1984. Daughter Marinella arrived two years later on January 1987.
Ernie, being in the Navy, was required to move several times during his active-duty years.
Coming from a military family, Marinella attended four elementary schools, two middle
schools and finally, one high school. Thankfully she did not have problems adjusting with
her peers.
Ernie and Pachi (Chi) had always been active participants of the San Antonians. They were
members/officers of all three: Norcal San Antonians (1992-1997); LASA (1997-1999);
and finally, SASDCI (1999-present; Ernie served as president for six years and Chi
as corresponding secretary).
