Birthdays
Ruth Arcala Sombillo
SASDCI's PRO will be turning SIXTY on December 3. She will be
hosting a party at their beautiful home in Otay Ranch alongside husband Rudy, their
three children, several grandchildren, and, sister Nitang Arcala.
Remar Radoc will be celebrating his 6th Birthday come December 3rd with a party hosted by
parents Manny and Janet Radoc. The occasion will coincide with the blessing of their new
home at Otay Ranch in Chula Vista.
Mina Domingo Maggay
Celebrating her 60th birthday without a bit looking her age is SASDCI Secretary
and better-half of Ben Maggay – Manang Mina. The party was hosted by Mng. Ben with the help of
family like niece Medy Domingo, friends Joy Aquino and Perla Callo, and aunts Angeling Aquino and
Feling Domingo.
Tatiana Paulette Beltran Boyd
A combined Christening and First Birthday Party was held at her
grandparents Candy and Nards’ home last October 8. Grandma Candy was her jovial self as she helped
Mommy Beverly entertain the guests. Tatiana’s older brother – Derrius helped in amusing the little
young guests via the astro jump set in their front yard.
Jared Li Alegado
It seems just yesterday when Mommy Mila gave birth to this sweet little boy.
Dad Vanni Alegado (SASDCI Sgt.-at-Arms) is just happy to host Jared’s 4th birthday party
considering the fact that a little girl is riding the stork ready to be delivered to the couple
in December.
Noli Cabiles
He was taken to a casino early morning by brother Norman without knowing that his family
was preparing abig surprise for him. Led by wife Edna and children Eduard and Joanna, the
"50th birthday" of NOLI will remain in his memory for a long time. It was one filled with
family (the Alegres, Norman and family, Ladrillonos) and numerous friends… not to mention the
endless buffet table set-up at the Bayview Community Center. A good man deserves a fabulous party!
Andrej Julian Canonizado The "bunso" of Ariel and Beth Canonizado of Mira Mesa turned 2 and a party was held in his honor
last September 3 at their residence which turned into a Train Station for the special occasion.
Jaden Amog If there was going to be a "Cutest Baby Contest" in Otay Ranch in Chula Vista,
Jaden will surely win the trophy. This heavy bundle of joy recently blew his first birthday
candle sans dad Jerry who is on Westpac duty. Nevertheless, Grandma Espie traveled from Suisun
City to help Jaden's mom Mabel in the celebrations last September 3 before proceeding to the SASDCI 25th
Anniversary party.
Condrado and Adore Pascasio Both September celebrants, Adore and Condring were given a birthday bash by daughter Emiluz and
son-in-law Albert at their residence in Otay Ranch last September 4th with close relatives
in attendance. Also celebrating her birthday with the couple that night was Adore’s sister Fina
of Florida. Steak and lobster were the gourmet feasts for the night.
Megan Franco Arlantico The only daughter of Dan and Lina Arlantico is now officially a "TEEN." Lovely Megan hosted her 13th
birthday party last August 20 held at the Bernardo Heights Community Center. Megan is a graceful and
talented dancer (Hula and HipHop) and a parlor games aficionado ...always getting the top prize at
numerous San Antonian gatherings.
Clarita Santos Camacho
Clarita Santos Camachoof Long Beach celebrated her 75th birthday last August 13th. The party was
hosted by her son Albert Valente with wife Rhodora and daughter Glenda Rivera. Nana Claire's party
was well-attended by people dear to her. With loving husband Tom - ever at her side... the pair
looked so happy as they danced and mingled with the guests.

Note from the President
by Ernie Padua, Jr.
The 25th Anniversary Celebrations of our organization last September was highlighted by the coronation
of Nicole Mata-Ladrillono - Miss San Antonians of San Diego Silver Jubilee and Her Court. The
candidates’ families, the San Antonians, and friends manage to raise more than $28,000 from selling
program advertisements and ballots. We netted approximately $19,000 (after percentages deductions)
and we have more than enough to sustain the organization for the next few years.
During the last Officers’ Meeting, the officers voted to set aside a total of $6,000 towards the
Scholarship Program of the association. Currently, SASDCI sponsors 55 students in San Antonio
for the school year 2005-2006. With an annual estimated expense of approximately $800 per school
year, the amount allocated for the Scholarship Program may last until SY 2012 unless the number of
scholars or tuition fees is raised extraordinarily. It is with distinct honor to be assisted by
Dr. Adore Pascasio, who oversees the Scholarship Program in San Antonio with the assistance of
Ms. Marietta Tejada.
The Officers also enthusiastically approved, as segment of our Silver Anniversary celebrations,
that a Mayflower Festival – Mother’s Day be scheduled for May of 2006. The festival we had
last May of 2004 was very well received by the members and we hope to be better-prepared for
next year. We encourage members to contact any of the officers if you or your child would like
to participate - particularly the Talent Portion.
While the activities of SASDCI are being planned for the coming year, we should not forget to
prepare for our Christmas Party on December 11 to be held at Canyon View Elementary in
Rancho Penasquitos. As the year comes to an end, isn't it a great idea to have some fun
with your San Antonian family?
The Officers and I are very grateful to the Miss Silver Jubilee candidates and their families,
to the many donors, businesses, members, and, supporters that made possible the continued
success of SASDCI. My family and I look forward to celebrating with you the fruits of our
labor during the past year in the coming New Year of 2006.
Happy Holidays to All!!
We are looking forward to seeing everyone in all the abovementioned festivities as we strive to
stay solid and consistently effective in the years to come.
~ Ernie Padua, President - SASDCI

Editorial
by Chi Padua
That SASDCI friends and supporters would come to the Dinner and Dance was expected.
But to have between eight hundred and a thousand members and friends in attendance at
the Picnic was overwhelming. It was the biggest gathering of SASDCI we have witnessed.
That the attendees, young and old alike, were seen actually having fun was pretty amazing.
That the food prepared by the food committee (supplemented by potluck dishes) never ran out - was
doubly amazing!
While we have worked hard to prepare for the big night, some things may unexpectedly still
go wrong. For those of us who worked behind the scenes – we believe that there is no pleasing
every one. If we managed to indulge the beauties and their families; if we managed to delight
the guests who flew/drove a few hundred miles; if we managed to teach a few children Philippine
folkdance as part of the entertainment and be thrilled in return by the applause of the spectators – then, we did a good job.
Lastly, the success of the fundraising and the celebrations last September is a demonstration of
the overwhelming support of the people to this organization. Quo vadis SASDCI? As we look forward
to the next 25 years, and based on the sentiments of the Officers at their last meeting, SASDCI
perceive its future to encompass: continually supporting the Scholarship Program for Disadvantaged
San Antonio Students; to keep publishing its bi-annual newsletter – THE SAN ANTONIANS - as an
informational tool for activities, announcements, and the association’s financial statements; and
hopefully, to keep on enhancing its programs in the service of its members and our beloved San
Antonio.
Our Thanks... To the very generous donors of SASDCI:
Rolando and Norma Gipulan ... $2,500
Dan and Amy Erese ... $60
Lily Spates ... $50
Gloria and Ramon Galindez ... $20
Lechon Donors:
Candy and Nards Beltran, Ramon and Gloria Galang, Norma and Rolando Gipulan
To all those who, in one way or another, gave cash, prizes, or worked (like the Asanas Brothers and wives –
Picnic Food Committee) towards the success of our Jubilee celebration….Maraming, maraming Salamat Po!
